NB | DREAM DISCIPLE

At New Beginnings we have a dream… and that dream is for every disciple to be transformed more and more into the image of Jesus. If we are going to become like Jesus, then we must be willing to live the way Jesus lived! Below are five postures that we see in the life of Jesus. Jesus lived with His eyes up, focused on the Kingdom of God. He lived with His knees down in prayer, spiritually dependent and in constant conversation with the Father. Even though He was the word made flesh, He lived ‘bible open’ letting the written word of God guide and direct His life. Jesus was relationally invested in people and walked in close community with others. Jesus is the epitome of what it looks like to live sent, every moment of everyday He was on mission to accomplish the Fathers will! This is our aim, and this is our dream for each and every Disciple at New Beginnings!

  • Kingdom Focused
We want to do everything we do with a kingdom mindset - focused on how we can use our unique kingdom platform for God’s greatest glory.

    • What is capturing your attention, thoughts and energy right now?

    • Is this distracting or focusing your attention on the needs of those around you?

  • Spiritually Dependent
We want to be sensitive to the movement of the Holy Spirit as we prioritize corporate and individual prayer - recognizing the value and necessity of both.

    • How is prayer changing the way you interact with others, and how often do you pursue His presence in prayer with other believers?

    • How much time do you spend listening in your prayer time, and what is God saying?

  • Biblically Grounded
We want to be Biblically literate and informed as we engage culture - always prepared and eager to share what God is teaching us through consistency in the Word.

    • What scripture is currently shaping me, and what does this look like in my life?

    • How are you sharing this with others?

  • Relationally Invested
We want to prioritize community and authenticity among the body of Christ, understanding that we are called to encourage, challenge, and spur on one another as we seek to pursue the Mission that God has entrusted to us. This requires being others focused in all of our interactions, as well as present and accountable to the body of believers around us.

    • In which relationships am I currently investing?

    • Who feels like they can call me at 2am?

  • Mission Ready
New Beginnings is committed to valuing, facilitating, and cultivating mission efforts both in the community and around the world. We define success not by how many people are coming to the church, but by how many people are leaving “as the church.” Our desire is that every believer would live out their mission/calling where they live, work, and play. In addition to our daily individual mission, as a church, we are called to a collective mission as well.

    • Who are the people that God is calling you to serve this week?
    • Who are you currently trying to connect to Jesus where you live, work, and play?
